L.I. Rail Road - Hicksville Station

The Hicksville Train Station is a central station for the Long Island Rail Road System. When refurbishing the station, the MTA added a snow and ice melting system on the platforms. The platforms are very challenging to shovel and de-ice during the winter. The objective is to provide safe conditions for their customers. Each platform is over a quarter mile long, using thousands of feet of Comfort Pro Radiant Tubing.

To control this huge snow melting system, tekmar Controls will automatically detect snow or ice and activate the snow melting system.
